What this page is

A plain-English summary of the NavPath Academy Refund Policy (Doc NP-STD-02, Rev 02, effective 16 July 2026). The full policy is Annexure A to the Admission Form & Enrolment Agreement, which every parent or guardian signs at counselling. Where this summary and the signed Annexure differ, the signed Annexure prevails. It applies to every batch: campus, crash course and the online batch.

Seat booking advance: 7-day window

The seat booking advance paid at enrolment is refunded in full if a written withdrawal request reaches us within 7 calendar days of the date of enrolment (the day the Admission Form is signed and the advance received). After 7 days it is non-refundable, whenever classes begin. On admission it is adjusted against the course fee.

Withdrawal after the 7-day window

Refund of amounts paid beyond the seat booking advance depends on when your written request reaches us, counted from the batch commencement date: more than 15 days before commencement, 90%; within 15 days before commencement, 75%; within the first 7 days of classes, 60%; between 8 and 30 days of classes, 40%; between 31 and 60 days of classes, 20%; after 60 days of classes, nil. Percentages apply to the fee actually received, excluding the seat booking advance and the tax component.

GST

Fees are inclusive of GST (currently 18%), which is deposited with the Government in the month of receipt. The GST portion of a refunded amount is returned in full when the withdrawal is processed within the same financial year and the statutory credit-note window is open; after that window closes it cannot be recovered. We process withdrawals promptly to protect this for you.

How to apply, and timelines

Refund requests must be in writing: email admin@navpathacademy.com or a signed letter. A 15-day notice period runs from the written request (the 7-day advance window is separate). Study material is returned and app, portal and mock-test access ends within 48 hours of acceptance. Approved refunds are paid within 45 working days after the notice period and return of material, by bank transfer to the parent’s registered account, without interest. Fees are not transferable to another person, batch or year; a withdrawn student who rejoins is a fresh admission. A computation statement is given with every refund.

Deductions that may apply

The lapsed seat booking advance; unreturned or damaged printed material at cost; ID card replacement; outstanding late fees; cheque dishonour charges; bank transfer charges at actuals. Where enrolment ends for disciplinary reasons under the Admission Form, a separate rule applies: repeated minor conduct issues attract a pro-rata refund on the slab above less a stated handling deduction; zero-tolerance offences (intoxicants, ragging or harassment, violence, theft) attract forfeiture, after the written-response opportunity and, for minors, the child-welfare procedure in the Admission Form.

Genuine cause

Where a withdrawal arises from documented medical incapacity, permanent relocation outside Kerala on a parent’s transfer, death or critical illness of the primary earning parent, or selection into a Government-recognised maritime training institute, the Academy may at its discretion apply a slab up to 10% more favourable than the standard, on proof. Joining another coaching institute, a change of career preference, or dissatisfaction not first raised through the grievance process are not genuine causes.

Special situations

Coaching outcome: NavPath provides coaching only; no refund arises because a student who completes the course does not clear IMU CET, secure sponsorship or clear an interview — outcomes are never assured. Force majeure or a shift to online delivery does not create a refund. If the Academy cancels a batch before it begins, the full fee including the seat booking advance is refunded, less a small administrative charge, within 30 working days — or you may move to the next batch.

Grievances and jurisdiction

A refund claim arising from dissatisfaction is considered only after it has been raised in writing through our grievance process and we have had a reasonable chance to put it right. Grievances are acknowledged within 3 working days and addressed within 30 days. Governing law: Kerala; courts and consumer forums at Kottayam.
