Female IMU CET Guide: Eligibility and Preparation for May 2027

Is there a separate IMU CET for women?
The practical answer is to prepare from the same official admission process and course rules, not from a separate coaching version of the exam. IMU’s course pages publish eligibility for each programme. Some age wording and other conditions can be course- or category-specific, so do not copy a number from an old blog into a 2027 application.
What the current IMU pages say
The current official pages for B.Sc. Nautical Science, DNS and B.Tech Marine Engineering describe Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level and publish marks, English, age and other conditions. They also show that requirements are course-specific. Use those pages to make a preliminary checklist, then replace it with the official IMU 2027-28 prospectus and notification when available.
Deck or engine: make the choice before the timetable
B.Sc. Nautical Science and DNS are deck-oriented routes; B.Tech Marine Engineering is an engine-oriented route. The subjects tested may overlap, but the work, medical expectations and training path are different. Read the course description and ask what life on board looks like before choosing an exam plan just because a keyword is popular.
A simple preparation plan
Start with a diagnostic test in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. Spend the first phase repairing concepts, the next phase on timed mixed practice, and the final phase on official instructions, revision and calm mock work. Track errors by topic. Coaching gives your practice a structure. Rank and seat allotment are decided by IMU.
Medical planning is part of exam planning
Do not wait for an IMU CET result to discover that a sea-going course has medical or eyesight conditions you cannot meet. Read the DG Shipping standards and contact an approved medical examiner for the relevant course. A coaching-centre screening is only a conversation, not an official fitness decision.
May 2027: what is known and what to verify
As of this planning guide, candidates should treat the 2027-28 prospectus, registration window, exam date, city details and final cut-offs as items to verify from IMU. A previous cycle’s date only shows the usual pattern. Bookmark the official IMU admissions page and avoid pages that present an unannounced date as fixed.
A fair preparation environment
